FLEX 1500 DESCRIPTION

The Flex 1500 control unit packs a huge punch in a compact, lightweight package with an efficient 1,500-Watt continuous pure sine wave inverter, so you can power dozens of 110-120VAC devices and appliances wherever you need it. Best of all, under normal conditions, the Flex is nearly silent and is 100% odor and fume-free—no pollutants or toxic exhaust of noisy gas generators.

The Flex includes an advanced maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controller with up to 90V of solar charge input, so it allows you to choose from all kinds of solar panels, allowing you to charge your Flex Battery in as little as 3 ½ hours in ideal sunlight. If you need to charge more Flex Batteries faster, you can add the Flex MPPT SuperCharger module and triple your solar charge input to 270V with up to 90A input. You will love the freedom of capturing clean, unlimited power from the sun whenever you need it.

The Flex 1500 control unit is packed with useful AC and DC power outputs:

  • 6 110-120VAC grounded outlets
  • 2 10-Amp cigarette lighter ports with regulated DC output
  • 2 USB-A ports with Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0
  • 2 60-Watt USB-C ports with PD
  • 2 5.5 x 2.5mm DC outputs for BaseCamp lights and other future Inergy accessories

The Flex 1500 is designed to be completely plug and play. To connect the Flex 1500 to the Flex Battery, simply align the connectors on the bottom of the head unit and top of the battery module and set the head unit down. The auto-lock system takes care of the rest.

The Flex 1500 is engineered to allow you power both moderate to heavy loads while accessing the full capacity of the battery. You are free to power loads up to 1,500 Watts or more for as long as your battery has power to give.

Now you can power all kinds of critical appliances and devices using renewable solar power for as long as you want. That’s right. You decide your run times. If you decide you want to double your run times, just add another Flex Battery. It can’t get any easier than that.

Pair the Flex 1500 with the Flex Battery

We’re just going to come out and say it: the Flex Battery is the smartest, most versatile Lithium-ion expansion battery ever made. The Flex Battery includes a DC output port, a Molex connector port for connecting to a Kodiak or Apex, and two connection ports for stacking, one on the top and one on bottom.

There are several important things you need to know about the Flex battery.

  1. You can use it with the Kodiak and Apex. That’s right! The Flex battery also is the long-promised Lithium expansion battery for your Kodiak and Apex. It will double your storage capacity with 1,088 Watt-hours of additional capacity.
  1. The Flex battery is plug and play, requiring no manual balancing. The Flex battery can detect the state of things, decide whether the Apex or Kodiak battery is too low and needs to be charged. If the Apex or Kodiak battery is too low, the Flex battery will automatically charge it to a safe voltage range. When the battery reaches the safe range, it will automatically connect to the Apex or Kodiak battery.
  2. You can use it separately as a regulated DC power source. With the addition of Inergy’s new DC-to-DC converter accessory, you can use the full capacity of your battery with 12VDC devices like portable refrigerators, water pumps, etc.
  1. You have two ways to charge the battery with solar panels. First, the MPPT controller in the head unit will charge each Flex Battery in your stack in equilibrium. One single Flex Battery will charge in as little as 3 hours. More batteries in the stack will, of course, take more time. If you choose to use the Flex Battery alone as a source of DC power, you can connect our external MPPT module, which is coming soon, to solar panels and charge your battery, again, in as little as 3 hours.
  1. You can expand your system to an unmatched amount of energy storage. You can connect up to 96 Flex batteries (approximately 104 kWh) to one Flex 1500 and enjoy the same plug-and-play functionality.
