Inergy (www.inergytek.com), provider of the world’s most adaptable and easy-to-use renewable energy storage solutions, was named by Power Africa as an official partner to collaborate on its initiative to double access to electricity in sub-Saharan Africa. This collaborative relationship is part of Power Africa’s goal of adding 30 gigawatts of cleaner, more efficient electricity generation capacity and 60 million new home and business connections throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Power Africa is a U.S. Government-led partnership coordinated by USAID.
“Inergy is a great fit for sub-Saharan African energy needs, and we’re grateful to be part of such ambitious initiatives to empower lives of people in this area of the world,” said Sean Luangrath, CEO of Inergy. “Our energy solutions will allow those living off-grid to have faster access to power through our reliable, renewable energy products.”
It is estimated that two out of three people in sub-Saharan Africa lack access to electricity. Power Africa has helped deliver first-time electricity to 137.3 million people across sub-Saharan Africa since 2013. Inergy joins these efforts as part of Power Africa’s Mini-Grid Sector Group.
“Inergy’s line of products are designed to improve customers’ lives by providing them with power anywhere, at any time,” said Zane Hardin, Vice President of Marketing at Inergy. “We are honored to be part of reducing energy inequality by providing energy solutions to the most vulnerable and remote communities in sub-Saharan Africa.”
